Centrec Care uses Psycho-education as an important tool in our tool shed. It can best be explained as a means by which information can be structurally and systematically explained to the patient and/or the family members about mental disorders, symptoms, understanding the disorder, as well as, coping and prevention of relapse skills.

A goal is for the patient and family to understand and be better able to deal with the presented illness. Also, the patient’s own strengths, resources and coping skills are reinforced, in order to understand that relapse is a part of their recovery, and contribute to their own health and wellness on a long-term basis. The theory is, with better knowledge the patient has of their illness, the better the patient can live with their condition.

Centrec Care offers Psycho-education in one-on-one discussion or in groups. The presentations are made by our qualified health professionals such as nurses, social workers, psychologists and physicians. The educational process will provide the patient a better understanding of their problems and prepare the critical ground work for developing essential coping skills. We promote group discussion in a highly interactive, energy charged exchange of ideas.

We utilize lectures, brochures, videos, books, power-point and other media as a means of making the presentations exciting and magnetic.
